All Mr. Brown wants is a nice cup of tea and a peaceful evening with his cat on his knee. He’s too old for love and adventure. Or so he thinks.

This morning when Harold Brown woke up, it seemed like a normal day. Why would a 50-year old man feel anything about a circus coming to the quiet town of Limberlost? But BonBon Circus has brought a Bengal tiger, and Harold’s never seen a tiger before. When he decides to disrupt his routine to visit the circus, it sets in motion a few other changes, all leading up to one thrilling day. Will Mr. Brown’s life ever be the same again?

My Thoughts:

The author was kind enough to send me her book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this short story or novella, I found myself wanting more when I reached the end.

This is a 42 page short novella about Harold a 50 year old man that has lived his entire life stuck in routine wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, leave work, eat dinner, and sleep, it has been like this for years. Harold is a man that keeps to himself he has no friends besides his cat and has no desire to make friends or break away from his routine; until the day the circus comes to his hometown. The circus has brought a tiger and Harold has never seen a tiger and is really intrigued by it, so he decided to break his routine and go to the circus to see the tiger after work.

I really love this story it was a quick read and the author's writing was superb, I love the way she described scenes she made me feel like I was right there next to Harold. I also loved the message the story is trying to send, that no matter your age it's never too late to break out of routine and do as your heart desires. I really do hope the author writes more about Harold and his life. If you're looking for a heartwarming story with a beautiful message look no further, also is super short so you have no excuse to not read it lol.
