Synopsis:

Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble; it has been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems beside the point now.

Maybe that was always beside the point.

Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn't expect him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.

That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts . . .

Is that what she’s supposed to do?

Or would Georgie and Neal be better off if their marriage never happened?

My Thoughts:

If  you could go back in the past and fix your marriage before it starts, would you do it?
Georgie McCool tells her husband that she can't travel to Omaha to visit his parents because something has come up at work , but she never imagined Neal would pack up the girls and go without her. While her family is out of town she decides to stay with her mom. That is where Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. Georgie takes this as an opportunity to fix her marriage before it even starts.

This was the first time I read Rainbow Rowell and I absolutely loved it. I particularly enjoyed the way this book dives into problems that many married couples actually have. Rowells writing is perfection and I really connected with Georgie and Neal.

This book really made me see how sometime we take our partners for granted and it isn't until they leave that we realize how much we actually need/want them in our life. I really recommend this book it was a fast contemporary read, that had me laughing and crying sometimes at the same time.

I will definitely be reading more Rainbow Rowell!

Meet the Author! Marissa Meyer

Synopsis:

In this stunning bridge book between Cress and Winter in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told.

Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.

Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from Winter, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.

My Thoughts:

In this novella we go back to Queen Levana's past. We go back to when Queen Levana is a 16 year old princess to when she becomes Queen of her beloved Luna.

Let me just say that this book made me feel some things that I never in my wildest dreams thought I could feel for Levana,I actually felt sorry for her. Levana grew up to be a twisted, manipulative, evil Queen and this novella helps us understand why and let me tell you are going to want to rip her head off. This novella also helps us understand how Winter and Cinder came to be in Levanas life.

I recommend this to anyone that loves the Lunar Chronicles and wants to learn more about Levana and her evil ways. I also recommend you read them in order of publication Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and then Fairest, you don't have to but you would be more familiar with the characters when you begin reading Fairest. There is an excerpt of Winter in this novella that just made me anticipate the release even more (is it fall yet). This series is amazing I cant wait to see how it ends!

Synopsis:

After surviving a disastrous battle at prom, Alyssa has embraced her madness and gained perspective. She's determined to rescue her two worlds and the people and netherlings she loves. Even if it means challenging Queen Red to a final battle of wills and wiles . . . and even if the only way to Wonderland, now that the rabbit hole is closed, is through the looking-glass world--a parallel dimension filled with mutated and violent netherling outcasts. In the final installment of the wildly popular Splintered trilogy, Alyssa and her dad journey into the heart of magic and mayhem in search of her mom and to set right all that's gone wrong. Together with Jeb and Morpheus, they must salvage Wonderland from the decay and destruction that has ensnared it. But if they succeed and come out alive, can everyone truly have their happily ever after?

My Thoughts:

In this book Alyssa has embraced her netherling madness and is determined to save Jeb, Morpheus, her mother, and Wonderland, even if it means challenging the red queen. Alyssa and her dad venture into the looking glass world to find a way into wonderland, since the rabbit hole was closed the night of the battle. With the help of Morpheus and Jeb they set in a journey to save Alyssa's mother and Wonderland from the mayhem the Queen Red has unleashed.

This is a bittersweet moment an ending of a trilogy I have enjoyed so much, even though I was not ready to say goodbye to the characters I have grown to love (Morpheus) the ending A.G. Howard wrote was amazing. I have never read any ending like it and it was definitely very satisfying. The way Howard re imagines Wonderland is perfection it just draws you in like a moth to a flame ( no pun intended ;) ) lol.

The book had my feels everywhere! The love triangle is strong in this one, but I'm beyond happy of the way A.G. Howard worked with it. I was crying tears of joy at how perfect the ending was. I also loved the character development, the characters have gone through so much since the last two books and the way they have grown definitely reflects in this book. This book has left me with a hangover that is going to be very difficult to overcome, Oh A.G Howard what have you done to me and my feels. One last thing this book is definitely under hyped it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. If you have not picked this book up, what are you waiting for? If you like anything Wonderland even if you don't this book will leave you craving for Wonderland to be real. Also the cover will look amazing on your bookshelf! ;)

The Wishing Stone and Other Myths Learned on Gull Cliff Island

BOOK REVIEW
The Wishing Stone and Other Myths Learned on Gull Cliff Island

Title: The Wishing Stone and Other Myths Learned on Gull Cliff Island
Author: J.M. Lavalle
Date Published: July 3, 2014
Publisher: Morning Rain Publishing
Page Count: 112
Rating: ★★★

Synopsis:

Please, she thought to the stone, let there be a best friend for me in that boat. Let it be so and I'll set you free, and toss you back with the tides where you belong.

If Dot wishes hard enough on her special stone, maybe the world will slow down and be a little less topsy-turvy. When Dot tossed her wish into the sea, hoping for a friend her age, the stone brought her Sarah. And when the girls worried for the health of Sara’s mother, it made her healthy, and brought Sara her precious Pearl.

It’s 1961, and Dot is teetering between childhood and adolescence. At the same time, her rustic world is catching up with the modern towns in the rest of Canada and Dot isn't sure how she feels about that. Dot enjoys having both a winter and summer home, and knowing every face in three villages. If more changes come, will that mean more people and more noise will come with them?

The Wishing Stone & Other Myths, Lessons Learned on Gullcliff Island will take both children and adults back in time through eleven-year-old Dot, a traditional girl coping with her father’s dream of becoming a boat-builder and the realization that Mum and Dad are people with thoughts, emotions, and secrets apart from the family. Alongside her adventurous best friend, Sara, Dot must make ready for the future, whether it be on Gullcliff, in Aylmer Sound, or someplace out of her father’s dream.

Like Little House on the Prairie, or Anne of Green Gables, The Wishing Stone & Other Myths will take readers to a time and place where big dreams didn’t mean finding fame, but listening to the heart

My Thoughts:

This book was send to me by the author for review, but that in no way affect my review on this book. This is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book it was a quick and adorable read. The author takes you back to the 1960's, where our main character Dot is in the middle of childhood and adolescence in her rustic world that is catching up with the modern towns.

This book really makes you think what is that you want to do with your life and if you want to follow your dreams. I really loved the message our main character is trying to send, which is to follow your dreams, to always be yourself  and to not hide the real you from others. I also really enjoyed the relationship Dot and her cousin Sara shared it took me back to my childhood and the way Lavalle described the mother and father relationship was just adorable.

I really do recommend people to read this lovely book it's a quick read with only 112 pages and the message it sends to readers of all ages is really great.

Suddenly memories of that haunting day begin to return, and when Stella discovers that other red-headed girls have gone missing as well, she begins to suspect that something sinister is at work.

Harry Potter Books 1-4 / January Wrap up

Harry Potter

Harry Potter Books 1-4
Author: J.K. Rowling
Publisher: Scholastic INC.

My Ratings
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone★★★
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban:
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire:

Yes, I know I'm probably the last person on earth to read Harry Potter this late. But I'm happy I finally decided to join the Harry Potter fans. I lllooovvveee this series there's not one book that does not deserve five out of five stars J.K. Rowling is brilliant she created a perfect world, and some amazing characters that I just can't help fall in love with.  I don't know what took me so long to pick up this series, I remember picking it up once in middle school but it never got past the first chapter. I guess there was something wrong with me as a preteen.

This series deserves all the hype it's getting! I would love to live in the beautiful world J.K. Rowling created. If you have only watched the movies and loved them, please read the books you won't be disappointed the movies are lacking so much and don't do the books justice.  I can't wait to continue with the last three books!
