My Thoughts:

First I want to thank Netgalley and Spencer Hill Press for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book, reading in Hook's perspective was very refreshing and a very different take on Peter Pan. Hook is a normal boy living in London that can't wait to be a grown up, that is until the day he meets Peter Pan who introduces young Hook to fairies, magic, and tells him all about Neverland; after hearing about the amazing world Peter comes from, Hook decides that he wants to spend his vacation in Neverland but after he spends some time there he realizes that Neverland and Peter are not as great as he thought. This book kept me up to the wee hours of the night! I really enjoyed reading about Hooks descend into darkness and how his hatred for the Pan (as he calls him) came to be. I felt so much for Hook and all that he lost when Pan refused to take him back home to his family, but as much as I tried to hate Pan I just couldn't my emotions for Pan where all over the place, even though Shrum showed me a more sinister side to him; I kept making excuses for him the main one being that he was child and he couldn't comprehend why someone would want to grow up or be with their parents. 

The love interest in this book had me in an emotional roller coaster, I loved it so much! Hook and Tiger Lily were perfect for each other.The ending and cliffhanger, were done so well, I was not expecting it at all!  I need the second book as soon as possible! I need to know what happens to Hook, his crew, the lost boys and of course Pan. I really loved this retelling and how it stayed true to the original, even Wendy and her brothers make an appearance toward the end. If you are looking for a good villain story or just in the mood for a book with pirates, this is the book for you.

My Thoughts:

First I want to thank Netgalley and Disney Press for being kind enough to provide me with an Ecopy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was not at all what I expected it to be. I'm going to be giving it 3 stars because even though I didn't love it how I thought I was, I  didn't hate it. I might be in the minority saying this, but towards the middle I did start enjoying the story a bit more, but with that said it did have some flaws. This book is a retelling of Aladdin, but in this story instead of Aladdin getting the lamp it’s Jafar who gets it and summons the genie. I did like the twist and the action the author hit me with towards the end I was not expecting it; I also really liked how the author told us a little more about Aladdin's and Jasmines past.  One of my problems with this book was that it didn't have enough Jafar or Genie in my opinion, I really wanted to see more of both and unfortunately that doesn't happen until the end also the first 28% of the book was exactly like the movie and that made it a little boring, but if you can get past that the story does get better. 

At this point I do not know if I will be continuing with the series.

Deanne Dee the author of Borderline Love was kind enough to send me an Ecopy of these bind up of short stories in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a collection of six short summer love stories by six different authors. I really enjoyed all the stories in this book; they were cute short reads and perfect for summer reading. I will review each one below and give each story its own rating. I gave the book a 4.5 overall. I really liked all the stories and recommend this book to all my contemporary lovers or if you're just looking for a light summer read. 

Sutton Summer By: Sasha Hibbs

Mckenzie said some awful things to Dylan the last time they worked together during summer and now that she's headed back to her aunt's for summer she isn't looking forward to seeing him, but Dylan has done some major changes and Mackenzie starts to regret not giving him the time of day. I loved this story and the character development Mackenzie goes through was so well written and perfect. I also really loved the message this story sends out and Dylan just seems like the sweetest.

Exquisite Torture By: S.D. Wasley

Ryan is being sent to his grandma's for the summer while his parents go to Paris, Ryan thinks his summer is over until he meets Connie, but Connie is keeping secrets and lying to Ryan. This was such different summer story and the twist the author hit me with was so unexpected. This story was very enjoyable! I also like that the author showed that you don't always need WiFi or your smartphone to have a good time.

Forbidden By: Melissa Frost

★★★★★ 

Olivia can't help to feel attracted to the new guy Gavin, but there is a rumor going around that he’s a bad boy and her mother warns her to stay away from him. I really enjoyed this story; it shows that you shouldn't judge a person before getting to know them and that you can't always believe what you here. Also Gavin and Olivia were just so cute together.

Taking the Plunge By: Diana Stager

Jessica is a teenage mom living on her own trying to finish high school and take care of her son. One day she decided to take her baby for summer swimming classes and is there where she meets Erik who seems to be attracted to her and not mind that she has a baby, but Jessica is not sure she is ready for another relationship after what she's been through. This is the first time I've read anything with a teen mom in it and I loved it! Many of my friends were teen moms and they felt that their love life was over because they had a child; I love how this story shows otherwise and that there is still good guys out there that will love them and treat the baby as their own. 

Border Line Love By: Deanna Dee

Dayla's on vacation trying to get away from her brother, she is in the water when she gets pulled in by a wave and almost drowns, but she is saved by Mason who also happens to be very HOT. When they bump into each other again he asks her if she would like some surfing lessons how can she refuse, but there is something from the past haunting Mason and makes act very overprotective towards Dayla. This story brought tears to my eyes! I absolutely loved Mason and just wanted to hold him until everything was okay. I really liked Daylas character as well even though she did irritate me a couple of times.

An Ocean of Their Own By: Bridie Hall

Lola had always loved to draw and now that her family has gone on vacation she has beautiful scenery to inspire her, when she sees a beautiful young girl standing far away she is taken away by how beautiful she is and starts to draw her. They soon start to spend more and more time with each other until Lola falls for her, but she doesn't know how to tell her parents. This story was very enjoyable and I feel many other teens can relate to it.

My Thoughts:

The author was kind enough to send me an Ecopy in exchange for an honest review. This book is so good; it had me on an emotional roller-coaster.

Starla had a freak accident that left her hand deformed, but she has overcomes it and has an amazing boyfriend Jared and an awesome best friend Ally. Everything is going great until the night she overhears her mom talking on the phone finds out they're moving and in the middle of the school year. Everything is going great for Starla in her new school until she finds herself the center of attention brought on by a cyberbully that ruins her relationship with Jared, it is then her new friends decide to launch a counter attack to try and reveal the cyber bullies identity; part of the plan involves Starla and her new friend Chase faking a relationship, but soon Starla starts falling for Chase and the plan starts to backfire on her.

This book was not what I expected; I fell in love with it and all the amazing characters immediately. I loved T.C. Booths writing style it just sucked you into the story. I loved Starla’s character development throughout the book; she really learned to accept her flaws and to stand up for herself. Now let’s take a minute to talk about the perfection that is Chase; I loved everything about him, he was every girl's dream guy and so swoon worthy.  I also really liked the subjects the story centered on, cyber bullying which is very common nowadays and that you should never think less of yourself because you're different. Chase and Starla were perfect for each-other he understood her so well and always put her first. T.C. put me through an emotional roller-coaster she made me laugh, cry and cry of happiness and I would ride that roller-coaster all over again! This book was absolute perfection and everyone should pick it up.

This book was CREEPY and I LOVED it!! This book gave me a nightmare and I'm not ashamed to say it, no book has ever done that before.

Marci has been fighting the shadows taking over her body since she was five. They seem to take advantage of her at her weakest, but she has found a way to keep them at bay she just has to keep her mind busy. When Marci meets James the leader of IgNite is when she finds out what's actually going on with her which is way worse than she thought. Marci is infected with a parasite that latches on to the human brain and takes over your body and can also change the hosts bodies into whatever they desire. James is going to teach Marci how to control the parasite. 

I really enjoyed this book I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, but this book has changed my mind on that genre and I'm definitely going to venture more into it. I loved Ingrid Seymour's writing it was fast paced and kept you turning the page. Our main character Marci is such a bad ass, I also loved how she never gave up on fighting the shadows and that she never backed down from a task no matter how hard it was or how terrified she was. One thing I want to point out is the love interest; I loved that Xave and Marci had known each other since they were little and that the love they had for each other had grown over the years and it was not insta-love; it was a fresh breath of air and not seen in young adults books very often. I would recommend this book to anyone! It's such a great read that everyone should pick up.
